Dudleytown,Connecticut Area

On these pages a few photos of Dudleytown and area June 1999.

A walk of several miles from Housatonic Meadows State Park Camping Area although rather rugged uphill. Only a couple businesses in downtown Cornwall Bridge might be open 'days only' including a package store with your hearts desire-but alcohol is illegal in park and we all do not drink so don't let it bother you !! You might prepare your schedule properly lest the sun might get low.

I have more film but at least I wanted to get these up which show the general area. Many claim to see unusual things come out on film so look yourself and see if you can spot anything unusual. Despite stories that Dudleytown is Cornwall,Connecticut and people live there 2007 but wrong as to living in Dudleytown. Note the rural location up in the mountains. Old Dudleytown Road the names have even been taken down and the road from the north and south and west abandoned and chained and part of Dark Entry Forest Preserve. Note signs advising of daylight activity ONLY.

Right north of Macedonia Brook State Park Camping Area (only a mile or so) is a small lake supposedly with a strange history of its own. It evolved in the 1940's and 50's so was told.(later 'touched up' for the movie series into this decade,etc.) It has been told this area was the origins of the FRIDAY THE 13th tales that later evolved into the movie series and some movie shots even used this location. Ask about this strange lakes name and history and see if you can get an answer !! Welcome-- ex-Crystal Lake....2003 ? I don't know .. just keep your ears open...[click]

I wish not to overdue it but tales that Freddy Krueger used to live in the old iron mills of this area and the series Halloween evolved from Harlem Valley Psychiatric Hospital (a short trip from Macedonia Brook Park) and the 'main' character used to 'come home' to Sharon,Connecticut.[click]

Those old brews by the campfire might help tales spread but we don't drink anymore so lets rest these ancient rumors and tales !! ?? [p.s. some movie sets are done in locations such as NW Connecticut as it is rural and within distance of New York City]
