Wyantenock State Forest is a Connecticut state forest located in the towns of Warren, Kent and Cornwall. The forest consists of nine scattered parcels and was originally part of Mohawk State Forest. The forest is one of the least visited and developed state forests with little or no public access.

Wyantenock State Forest...a 'most interesting' State Forest. Mostly unknown. It has various sections mixed in the same area as the Housatonic State Forest and Mohawk State Forest. Some map links below. I forget where they came from but maybe a couple from the DEP. I 'bulk' copyright everything just to make it more work for somebody to simply duplicate YOUR whole website.

The State spent forever putting up NO ALCOHOL signs almost everywhere. I presume in areas a human has not walked/been in a hundred years. These State Forests are sort of kept secret by the State. Am I nuts ?? Try the DEP WEBSITE 2010 ??? I presume they do not have the staff to control ALL DRINKING in these places. Otherwise the philosophy is-----they must know what everybody is doing !!!!

For those interested in the Dudleytown area you might notice Wyantenock State Forest covers much of that area. It seems Dark Entry Forest Association does not want to acknowledge its existence. (I can't not speak that from any facts)(chronically---they say..the land is under survey...) Somebody has removed all the State Forest signs up in that area. The Mohawk Trail (blue-blazed hiking trail) is said now to be totally not on Dark Entry property according to Town Hall. I question that as it looks like the section from Dark Entry Road is not in the State Forest. Yes..the trail has been re-aligned to remove it from their lands...
